Define ” Branding”
Branding is often confused with so many other marketing terms so we are here to set the record straight.
to clearly understand what branding is we have to look at what branding is NOT
Your logo is NOT your brand
Although this is a lovely logo *pats ourselves on the back* it is not branding. A logo is very useful though and can have a brand message included but the logo itself is not the brand it is simply a symbol for the brand.
2. The product is NOT the brand
This is a common misconception that the product is the brand whether it is Adidas or nike. Your focused on buying two different products NOT brands.
3. The brand is NOT a promise
Yes it can be looked at as a promise but it is certainly not that. it’s much more deeper and intricate.
so what is a brand?
a BRAND is a result, it is a customer’s gut feeling about a products , service or company.
your customers create your brand, of course, it is important to assist in this creation by inputting positive raw materials such as good customer service like chick-fil-a or hard workers like home depot.
A brand is simply your business reputation and everyone is going to have a different view about your reputation and that is okay as long the majority thinks about your company the way you want them to.
Next time your curate your ad campaign or try to push a certain image about your company into consumers’ heads. think about ” what am I achieving?” , “what will my customers think about this”
THE BRAND IS THE COMPANY (to consumers)
so invest in the maintenance of your brand.
