The announcement, made in partnership with the Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIIC) at IIT-Kanpur, marks a significant milestone in India’s push for self-reliant defense technologies and indigenous aerospace innovation, especially in light of geopolitical shifts and the national “Make in India” and “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” initiatives.
Foxhog’s ₹25 crore commitment will be distributed over a span of 18–24 months and will serve two primary purposes:
-Research Grants for prototype development and deep-tech exploration in areas such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missile systems, avionics, and surveillance technologies.
-Equity-Based Investments in startups that demonstrate clear commercialization potential, including spin-offs that may serve civilian applications in transportation, logistics, AI-based defense analytics, and satellite systems.
